Black August and the Haitian Revolution

For over two centuries, the Haitian people have been subjected to deadly sanctions, US-backed intervention, and destabilization. Today, the the Trump administration has vowed to terminate Temporary Protected Status for Haitian immigrants which would leave hundreds of thousands without any legal protection. Haiti has endured centuries of imperialism for daring to be the first Black nation born of the first successful slave revolt.

✨ In the spirit of Black August, we will gather on Wednesday, August 6th at 6pm, to learn about the origins of the Haitian Revolution and Haiti's continued struggle against imperialism and economic warfare! ✨
